Administrative Assistant I supporting the Chief Legal Counsel at the Department of Children and Families. Responsible for legal analysis, public records liaison, and administrative support tasks.
Responsibilities
Independent work assisting the Chief Legal Counsel in providing analysis and research on a variety of administrative matters
Serve as the Chief Legal Counsel in the capacity as paralegal
Act as district liaison for public records requests and subpoenas
Receive and route telephone calls, answering questions
Perform legal research and writing as requested
Maintain court calendars and executive assignment logs
Manage confidential legal and case files and programmatic records and files
Process incoming mail, invoices, time sheets, travel, and other administrative tasks
Draft and prepare a variety of legal documents under the supervision of an attorney
Requirements
Knowledge of administrative principles and practices
Knowledge of office procedures and practices
Knowledge of legal terminology
Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data
Ability to prepare correspondence and reports
Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Ability to work independently
