About the role
- Patient Care Technician providing direct patient care and assistance with daily living activities in a hospital setting. Contributing to a compassionate and efficient care environment for all patients.
Responsibilities
- Performs patient care activities, including but not limited to identifying and responding to abnormal findings
- Appropriately escalating changes in the patient’s condition to the nurse
- Activities of daily living (ADL’s)
- Provides assistance with patient elimination, hygiene, comfort, safety, nutrition, and progress activity
- Practices patient and family centered care
Requirements
- Two (2) years of prior patient care experience (e.g. Certified Nursing Assistant, or Patient Care Technician)
- Phlebotomy skills check off required within 90 days of hire
- Proficiency in all Core Competencies of the PCT position as noted in Memorial Hermann’s PCT Competency Based Tool
