Responsibilities
Efficiently receive, coordinate, and schedule surgical service requests.
Determine and prepare system and equipment needs for each procedure.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff, physician offices, and vendors to ensure all necessary resources are available for surgical procedures.
Manage and optimize supply and equipment costs.
Coordinate labor and operating room requirements.
Gather and analyze payer coverage, coding, and billing information to determine appropriate facility charges.
Perform thorough internal charge entry audits to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Ensure proper coding to maximize reimbursement.
Consult with clinical staff to address and resolve any discrepancies.
Execute routine administrative duties and oversee workflow to support surgical services.
Requirements
Time Management and Organizational Skills: Demonstrated ability to balance and manage multiple schedules and tasks simultaneously. Maintain detailed records of booking sheets, charges, communications with clinical staff, and phone calls.
Ability to Thrive Under Pressure: Stay calm and efficient when handling urgent and emergency surgical requests. Adapt quickly to changing situations and demands.
Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills, with the ability to quickly learn and navigate relevant software and systems.
