About the role

Responsibilities
- Holistic nursing care and support for older adults with psychiatric conditions such as dementia, depression, or schizophrenia in an inpatient setting.
- Participation in diagnostics and therapy in close cooperation with physicians, psychologists and other therapists to develop individual treatment and care plans.
- Professional nursing documentation and planning, including the preparation of care reports in accordance with current care and quality standards.
- Counseling and support for relatives on questions about care, the illness and how to interact with older people experiencing psychiatric changes.
- Participation in crisis interventions and the application of de-escalation techniques to create a safe, respectful environment for residents and staff.
- Interdisciplinary collaboration with professionals from nursing, medicine, psychology, social work and therapy to promote comprehensive care.
Requirements
- Completed training as a certified nursing professional (e.g., registered nurse, geriatric nurse or general nursing specialist) and additional qualification as a gerontopsychiatric specialist.
- Ideally qualified as a clinical/practice instructor to pass on your expertise to trainees.
- Enthusiasm for implementing modern nursing and care concepts, particularly for people with dementia and age-related psychiatric changes.
- Empathetic and respectful communication with residents, relatives and colleagues.
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Identification with the Christian values of Lafim-Diakonie and commitment to respectful, ethically responsible conduct.
