About the role

  • Sales Manager at Koelncongress promoting various event venues and managing client relationships within the MICE sector in Germany.

Responsibilities

  • You will take on project-related tasks within the Koelncongress sales unit to market the exhibition grounds, including the "Confex" building, and all Koelncongress event locations such as the Tanzbrunnen site or the Flora.
  • Identifying, qualifying and proactively approaching potential new clients in the national and international congress and conference segment – with a special focus on associations and their events.
  • Conducting market and trend analyses as well as competitor monitoring.
  • Generating leads via offline and digital communication channels.
  • Creating sales presentations and preparing bid books.
  • Further developing existing service and offering portfolios.
  • Responding to and handling customer inquiries as the first point of contact.
  • Drafting contracts, monitoring budgets and maintaining sales-relevant information in the CRM system.

Requirements

  • Successfully completed university degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or a completed commercial apprenticeship.
  • Ideally, professional experience in the events sector.
  • Strong acquisition skills and several years of sales experience at an event venue, agency, or hotel.
  • Well-connected with solid knowledge of the global MICE market (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Events), particularly in conferences, congresses and association events.
  • Excellent communication skills, enjoyment of consulting and sales, and interest in digital sales topics.
  • Very good analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent MS Office skills (especially PowerPoint), including willingness to take on administrative tasks.
