About the role

  • Sales Representative managing customer activities in Germany for Ingredion’s Texture and Healthful Solutions. Responsible for driving business growth and exceeding annual targets in the food industry.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver customer projects — identify and pursue growth opportunities with customers to expand Texture and Healthful Solutions
  • Initiate growth projects with existing and new customers to ensure project targets are fully achieved
  • Ensure customer project briefs are received and validated in accordance with Ingredion’s brief requirements
  • Customer centricity & experience — continuously develop and broaden customer relationships, building stakeholder networks within customer organizations
  • Create a positive customer experience across relevant functions and seniority levels
  • Meet activity targets by increasing presence and connections with customers, retailers, and food service providers
  • Own the customer experience at the customer interface, ensuring surveys are followed up promptly and customers receive appropriate service and experience aligned with our Customer Segmentation model
  • Innovation and technical support — represent Ingredion and serve as the primary contact for your customer base for technical support, working closely with and supported by our Technical Service team; regularly propose new ideas and concepts for consideration
  • Be the voice of the customer for your assigned region
  • Accelerate sales of recently launched products
  • Identify new pockets of growth and emerging trends
  • Account plans — develop and execute account plans using company systems and processes to grow Ingredion’s share of sales at customer accounts
  • Ensure account plans are well communicated and developed with internal and external stakeholders
  • Price and contract management — implement competitive, value-added pricing to maximize value for Ingredion
  • Conclude annual contract negotiations on price, payment, and delivery terms, ensuring Ingredion grows in line with business goals and ambitions
  • Internal stakeholder management — develop effective working relationships across relevant functions
  • Utilize and allocate internal support such as Technical Service, Marketing, Customer Services, Supply Chain, and Finance to lead or support project development, supply planning, debtor management, and other activities
  • Continuous development and learning — fully adopt company standards in Sales Excellence and use available learning opportunities to stay current with developments in sales and commercial areas.

Requirements

  • Proven sales expertise: strong experience in the food industry (preferably dairy and savoury categories), with a track record of delivering projects, driving sales, and achieving business growth in a specialty environment
  • Strategic account management: passionate about sales with the ability to develop and execute account plans, manage pricing and contracts, and build strong customer relationships to create growth opportunities and enhance customer experience
  • Innovation & technical collaboration: enthusiasm for introducing new ideas, accelerating sales of innovative products, and working closely with technical teams to support customer projects and respond to emerging trends
  • Professional qualifications & growth mindset: degree-qualified; fluent in German and English, both written and verbal; committed to continuous learning and adopting best practices in sales excellence
  • Category expertise: knowledge of German savoury and dairy categories and food processes/formulations.
