About the role
- Associate Director overseeing complex middle market commercial loans and collaborating with internal partners to enhance customer relationships. Responsible for underwriting, monitoring, and portfolio administration of loans in diversified industries.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite complex commercial loans in accordance with Huntington credit policies.
- Monitor a portfolio of commercial loans, proactively identifying emerging risks and escalating concerns as appropriate, and maintaining accurate risk ratings.
- Portfolio administration, including management of delinquencies, collateral exceptions, borrowing base and covenant compliance, product renewals, etc., as applicable.
- Attend client calls (virtual or in-person) with Relationship Management and other Bank partners.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market/industry trends.
- Conduct industry and market research using numerous resources available.
- Assist with training and/or mentoring Analyst & Associate level colleagues.
- Review and negotiate credit documentation in consultation with legal counsel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required (Finance, Accounting, or related field)
- 5+ years of experience in underwriting in a commercial banking environment
- High level of professionalism and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (particularly Microsoft Excel)
- Formal credit training
- Experience in the syndicated loan market
- Proficiency in S&P Capital IQ
