About the role

  • Senior Territory Manager overseeing agency relationships and business development for Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies. Responsible for growing the Massachusetts territory with strong partnering and marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for agency relationships and business development with a strong focus on marketing GUARD’s products
  • Develop and maintain profitable, meaningful relationships with agency partners
  • Engage agency partners to drive submission activity and achieve profitable growth
  • Execute day-to-day sales process using a disciplined sales approach
  • Build strong working relationships with distribution leadership and internal stakeholders
  • Analyze agency performance, market trends and competitor activity

Requirements

  • Ideal candidate has a minimum of 3+ years territory management and/or field underwriting experience
  • Positive face of the organization and a “can-do” attitude
  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining strong agency partnerships and obtaining sales results
  • Solid technical knowledge of commercial insurance, including Worker’s Compensation, Businessowners’, Commercial Auto, and Umbrella
  • Strong familiarity with the Massachusetts region and its agency networks, market conditions, and competitive landscape
  • Excellent sales acumen and desire to make a difference
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout the region by both car and air
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI is a plus
