About the role

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with functional engineering design experts and senior leaders within Gas Power to build the strategic vision, objectives, and multi-generational program roadmap for AI initiatives aligned with organizational strategic goals and Hoshin.
- Collaborate with designers and domain experts to identify opportunities for AI integration and innovation.
- Lead the discovery and qualification of AI use-case ideas and unify connected ideas within a value stream as part of building its AI roadmap.
- Lead the planning, prioritization, execution, and delivery of AI projects, ensuring timely completion and quality outcomes.
- Own technical requirements and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the ML/AI strategy for Engineering Design and implementation to ensure timely problem solving and delivery of agreed outcomes and objectives with a Lean Plan–Do–Check–Act mindset.
- Oversee execution across cross-functional teams comprising data scientists, software engineers, architects, responsible AI analysts, and quality assurance.
- Monitor and report on project progress, addressing any issues or deviations proactively.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI technologies and methodologies and their application to Engineering Design.
Requirements
- Master’s/PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering (Aero, Thermal, Structures) from an accredited university or college.
- At least 8 years of total experience, including a minimum of 5 years in Engineering Design and a minimum of 3 years developing AI/Machine Learning (ML) solutions, including unsupervised learning, supervised learning, computer vision, and large language models (LLMs).
- Proven experience in AI program management, with a track record of successful project delivery.
- In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with Engineering Design tools involving CAD, CFD/FEA, and process automation.
- Ability to translate insights from Test/Experimental data into effective AI driven solutions for Engineering Design.
- Strong understanding of AI and data science, with specialized focus on Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Generative AI.
- Good understanding of the Gas Power business and Engineering Design processes.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of various project and portfolio management methodologies.
- Strong project management skills with experience identifying non-value-added steps in the Engineering Design process.
- Experience in managing budgets including budget planning and spend.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, adept at engaging with both technical and non-technical audiences.
