About the role

  • Business Development Representative handling petrochemical client relations in Houston area for a mechanical contractor. Develops sales leads and supports client engagement in the refining and power industries.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, generate, oversee and follow up on all sales leads
  • Maintain on-going client relationships to support the best interest of the Company
  • Identify target customers and follow up on all sales leads
  • Assimilate Company sales forecasting
  • Act as a direct liaison on behalf of the Company with client relations
  • Meet regularly with target industrial petrochemical clients to develop, establish and maintain key contacts in the maintenance, turnaround, construction and procurement roles
  • Promote efforts to develop and secure small cap, large cap, turnaround and maintenance service activities with industrial clients
  • Maintain/develop customer relations on an on-going basis
  • Attend and work trade shows for company, participates in lunch and learns, leads client building/fellowship activities
  • Facilitate performance feedback from clients and remain active with client interaction
  • Ensure clients receive marketing literature and provide follow up with sales inquiries/proposals
  • Review any questions or concerns with management regarding prospect potentials
  • Discuss and provide any unique job scope procedures, financial parameters and/or timelines necessities with various departments
  • Follow up with customers before project execution, during project execution and after completion
  • Negotiate in "good-faith" on behalf of the company any financial concerns
  • Assist with implementation of forms and written reports of sales activities

Requirements

  • A college degree is preferred
  • minimum of 3-10 years of experience in business development within the petrochemical or chemical industries
  • strong understanding of mechanical and technical application in the industry
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with supervisor, co-workers and subordinates
  • Good leadership skills and proactive decision making and problem solving
  • Ability to oversee multiple tasks, customer correspondences’ and maintain a detailed schedule
  • Utilization of computer skills to navigate programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook
  • Must be able to meet all customer qualifications to access job site such as background check assessments, multiple and random drug testing and training requirements
