HR Allrounder managing recruiting, payroll, and HR marketing processes in a hybrid role at doQtor eHealth startup. Supporting team members and developing HR strategies for growth in Cologne.
Responsibilities
Recruiting with impact: You are the first point of contact for talent — from initial contact to contract signing.
You independently manage the entire application process, conduct interviews, and ensure we hire the right people for our team.
Shaping employer branding: You develop and maintain our employer brand. Whether job postings or career pages — you ensure doQtor remains visible as an attractive employer.
Independent payroll: You perform the monthly payroll processing autonomously and keep track of all relevant deadlines.
This also includes employee onboarding, offboarding and status changes, and, when necessary, using the social security reporting portal (e.g., to submit employment certificates).
You act as the central contact for social security institutions, the Employment Agency and our legal counsel.
Collaboration with the tax advisor/accounting firm only takes place in exceptional or special cases.
Supporting onboarding: You design the onboarding of new team members from contract preparation to the first week and ensure they feel welcome from day one.
Further development of existing HR processes: You work in a growing startup with already established HR structures. Rather than starting from scratch, you further develop existing processes, refine templates, optimize digital workflows and introduce new tools where they add real value.
Administrative matters under control: You take care of contracts, references, personnel files and everything organizationally related — digitally, structured and transparent.
Requirements
First experience gained: You have already gained initial insights into HR as a working student, intern or in a similar role — ideally in recruiting, payroll or employer branding.
Payroll experience is particularly important to us, ideally with Personio Payroll.
Organizational talent with structure: You work independently, keep an overview even when handling many tasks and prioritize sensibly.
Deadlines are not a source of stress for you but serve as a compass.
Strong communication skills: You communicate clearly and respectfully — whether by phone, email or in person. You present yourself confidently and build trust.
Numerical affinity and payroll know-how: Payroll processing, Excel sheets and deadlines do not deter you. On the contrary: you enjoy working precisely and conscientiously with data.
Desire to shape: You are eager to help shape things from the ground up. Startup mentality means opportunity, not chaos.
Tool competence: You are confident using MS Office or Google Workspace. Experience or solid prior knowledge in payroll processing is a requirement.
Experience with HR software (we use Personio), applicant tracking systems or other HR systems is a plus but not a must — what matters is that you can quickly and confidently learn new tools.
Degree or vocational training: You have completed a degree (e.g., Business Administration, Psychology, Health Management) or commercial training (e.g., vocational training in HR administration) or are nearing completion — career changers with relevant experience are also welcome.
Benefits
Flexible work arrangements: You can work flexibly from home and come to our Cologne office when needed.
In the heart of things: Our Cologne location offers an accessible, dog-friendly co-working space (WeWork) with excellent public transport connections.
Enjoy free barista coffee at the coffee bar, take part in on-site yoga classes and network at internal events with innovative startups shaping the future.
Creative freedom: You are not only an implementer but a co-creator. Your ideas flow directly into the development of our HR processes.
Development & learning: We promote your professional development through feedback, team exchange and opportunities to take on responsibility.
Team spirit: A collegial, interdisciplinary team that values your work and actively supports you.
Meaningful work: You contribute to our company's growth — enabling more people to access psychosocial support.
