About the role

  • Business Development Director responsible for establishing new customer relationships and generating revenue growth. Leading strategic initiatives to maximize profitability in logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the business development efforts for new customers
  • Aggressively establish new relationships, generating revenue growth
  • Maximize enterprise profitability
  • Develop and execute action plans for closing new deals
  • Self-identify and develop new business opportunities
  • Coordinate all information, activities & internal resources to move opportunities through the sales process
  • Establish credibility with customers by understanding their business issues and presenting solutions
  • Guide cross-functional teams to develop solutions for prospects
  • Collaborate and introduce prospects to other Cowan service offerings
  • Know the mission, policies, & structure of the organization to aid in the sales cycle

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years of truckload sales experience
  • TMS experience desired. TMW preferred
  • Excellent customer service, problem solving, and decision making skills
  • Ability to develop a working knowledge of all terminal operation aspects
  • Travel may be required as dictated by the customer/business
