Responsibilities
As a (Senior) Consultant Software Asset Management / Cloud FinOps (m/f/d), you advise large corporations and major SMEs on the most cost‑effective licensing options and the efficient use of cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
Possible project tasks may include:
Assessing the maturity level of software asset and license management
Introducing Software Asset Management roles and processes
Determining (license) requirements, preparing and negotiating software license contracts
Reporting on and optimizing license and cloud costs
Delivering training on Software Asset Management and Cloud FinOps
You will regularly exchange insights with our other SAM and Cloud FinOps experts on market developments and share your knowledge with colleagues.
Requirements
Completed commercial or technical training (e.g., IT systems salesperson) and/or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in (Business) Computer Science, Economics, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or Natural Sciences
At least 1–3 years of practical experience in consulting or a line role in Software Asset Management / License Management / Software Vendor Manager / Software Contract Manager / Cloud FinOps
Knowledge and experience applying licensing terms in practice for at least one of the following vendors: Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, VMware by Broadcom
Experience managing and implementing Software Asset Management projects
Experience with common SAM tool solutions on the market (e.g., USU, Snow, Flexera, ServiceNow) is desirable
Knowledge and experience in Cloud FinOps (e.g., frameworks, FOCUS datasets, tooling, provider‑specific knowledge of AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
Willingness to deepen your expertise in this subject area
Familiarity with Cloud FinOps tools (e.g., Apptio Cloudability, CloudHealth, Flexera Cloud Cost Optimization, AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Google Cloud Billing Console) is desirable
Strong analytical thinking and a solid understanding of business and numerical relationships
Goal‑oriented, independent working style with a team‑player mentality
Very good German and English language skills (written and spoken)
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
