About the role

  • Administrative Assistant providing comprehensive administrative and clerical support to ensure efficient operation of the organization. Managing schedules, communications, and document handling while delivering excellent service.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical and administrative support to the lab/lab personnel in addition to secretarial duties (filing, taking phone calls, scheduling appointments, making travel arrangements).
  • Manage and prioritize incoming calls, emails, and other communications, ensuring timely responses or routing to appropriate personnel.
  • Prepare and manage correspondence, reports, presentations, and memos, maintain computer-based paper files, answer and screen telephone calls, opening and distributing mail for those supported.
  • Answer routine inquiries and prepare standard correspondence.
  • Make travel arrangements, prepare briefings and presentations, coordinates meetings, drafts and distributes meeting agendas, schedules required logistics to support office staff, and perform Internet-based research.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of direct work experience in an office environment OR at least an associate degree in a related field.
  • This position requires the submission of a DNA sample, which will be stored in the government-managed DNA Sample-Employee Database to ensure it is excluded from CODIS (Combined DNA Index System).
  • Secret Clearance is required.
  • Due to the nature of work performed at the client’s facility, U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and articulate manner.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast past environment with changing priorities; adaptable to change and a quick learner.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
