Responsibilities
Provide support to internal clients by coordinating all movements of unionized personnel, ensuring ongoing communication and adherence to deadlines
Carry out internal unionized movements: analyze, select, and appoint qualified candidates following a job posting, and determine salary while ensuring related follow-ups
Coordinate, as required, the movements of employees affected by a layoff notice due to position elimination or displacement (bumping)
Analyze the positions available to an employee affected by a displacement (bumping) notice; communicate and explain the results of the analysis to the employee and assist them in making a choice by informing them about the nature of the tasks inherent to the positions or by coordinating a meeting with the manager of the relevant area
Receive qualification test results and provide them to the employees concerned
Calculate salary adjustments when an employee is assigned to perform another temporary role within the bargaining unit and process the adjustment in the HR system
Manage the recall list in accordance with collective agreement rules and calculate, on a monthly basis, the seniority date for temporary employees
Process union membership requests for employees
Serve on certain labour relations committees and prepare minutes/reports
Manage union release time for union executives
Requirements
College diploma in Human Resources, Administrative Techniques, or a related field
Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a Human Resources department as a labour relations technician or in a related role
Strong knowledge of collective agreement principles
Proficient with computer tools and the Microsoft Office 365 environment
Willingness to work outside regular hours for specific situations or in case of a crisis
Advanced proficiency in French, both written and spoken
