Responsibilities
Process bi-weekly and/or semi-monthly payroll for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
Maintain payroll records, employee data, and ensure proper documentation for new hires, terminations, and status changes.
Collaborate with HR and Finance to reconcile payroll, benefits, and deductions.
Manage multi-state payroll requirements, including tax filings, wage garnishments, and compliance with local labor laws.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, timekeeping, and deductions with professionalism and confidentiality.
Prepare and distribute payroll reports for leadership and finance teams.
Partner with external vendors (e.g., BambooHR, Paychex, or other systems) to troubleshoot issues and improve payroll processes.
Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2s, audits, and reconciliations.
Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum of 1-3 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in the fashion or wholesale industry.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
Experience managing 401k and health benefits preferred.
Proficiency in payroll/HRIS systems (ADP, BambooHR, Paychex, or similar).
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
