About the role

  • Lead a team designing and implementing collaboration tools for American Family Insurance. Responsible for managing technology solutions and overseeing functional requirements with a focus on Microsoft 365 suite.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers who design, implement, and support important collaboration tools for the American Family Insurance enterprise, consisting of the Microsoft M365 suite and AV/conferencing solutions.
  • Report to the Director of Technical Engineering.
  • Direct, through research, business requirements, innovation and proposals, the technology solutions procured by the corporation.
  • Direct the architectural design, development and enhancement of technology infrastructure.
  • Make strategic decisions regarding the life cycles of these systems and platforms.
  • Develop service definitions and map existing systems and devices to those service levels.
  • Deliver technology solutions for security, regulatory and legal compliance associated with the major functions of the domain.
  • Oversee the development of functional requirements; this includes the creation of charters and other project control documents.
  • Review schedules, approach, and implementation of technology requirements to manage technology lifecycles.
  • Create a collaborative, performance-driven work environment by facilitating and promoting trust, transparency, and inclusion.
  • Work with team members to set clear goals, provide feedback, perform performance assessments, and support ongoing development.
  • Contribute to division or department leadership team.
  • Communicate and support organization mission, vision, values, policies, and practices.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills including performance management, career development, conflict resolution, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, and maintaining communications and collaboration technologies in a large multi-site and hybrid work environment, specifically including the Microsoft 365 suite (Exchange/Outlook, Office, Teams, Teams Voice, SharePoint, Copilot).
  • Experience managing large-scale video conferencing environments based on both Teams and Zoom.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of the security, privacy, business and regulatory requirements associated with communications and collaboration technologies and solutions.
