Manage product planning and portfolio growth for Genesis models at Hyundai. Oversee product strategy, development, and lifecycle enhancement with cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
Manage model-line product planning and portfolio growth for key Genesis models.
Oversee long range product plan & future powertrain strategy (including electrified models).
Manage future technology roadmap (ADAS, NAV/Infotainment, Connectivity) for assigned vehicles.
Support product development requests and manage coordination with Genesis Headquarters in Korea and Genesis Canada.
Define model positioning, target buyers, sales volume goals, features, trims, and packaging strategies.
Conduct deep market, competitive, and customer insights analysis to develop product proposals for executive review.
Build and manage lifecycle enhancement plans, full‑model change concepts, facelifts, and competitive feature strategies.
Develop future product line‑up and powertrain strategies that support brand, profitability, and regulatory targets.
Work closely with Genesis HQ in Korea and Genesis Canada to align North American product requirements.
Lead early product concepting, positioning, and unique selling point creation.
Define the future technology roadmap in partnership with Vehicle Technology Planning.
Contribute to long-range product planning, competitive intelligence, and emerging customer research.
Support new product ideation, market research (clinics, focus groups), and advanced concept development.
Participate in product meetings, design evaluations, engineering ride‑and‑drives, and provide strategic recommendations.
Support media launch events and present new products to press.
Review and approve new model/face‑lift specifications at SOP and attend factory inspections.
Ensure accuracy of all product-related materials (web content, press releases, product guides).
Manage and develop a team of Managers and Assistant Managers.
Oversee vendor partners and cross-functional workstreams.
Provide U.S. market feedback to global counterparts and maintain alignment with corporate goals.
Requirements
Eight or more years of experience, of which at least five years of directly related experience with an automotive manufacturer or distributor with direct product planning experience.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Master’s degree a plus.
At least two years of supervisory experience desired.
Strong command of automotive technology and trends.
Proficient with frequently used Automotive Planning & Analysis Tools including Polk Insight, mTab, and J.D. Power PIN.
