About the role

  • Administrative Support role assisting the Alberta Ombudsman Office in Edmonton. Responsible for administrative tasks and front-line service to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with both administrative tasks and front-line service, playing a vital role in the efficient day-to-day operations of the office.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Alberta Ombudsman / Public Interest Commissioner and the Senior Management Team when necessary.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma plus two years of related experience is required, but equivalencies may be considered.
  • An Administrative Professional Diploma or Certificate is considered an asset.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365, particularly Word and Outlook
  • Experience using Scheduling Assistant to coordinate meetings
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat for document editing and modification
  • Typing speed of 50+ wpm with a high level of accuracy
  • Clear, effective written and verbal communication skills
  • A professional and confident approach when interacting with challenging complainants
  • The ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain excellent attention to detail.
