Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of advertising sales representatives to achieve individual and team revenue goals
Actively manage and grow a personal book of business consisting of key local and regional advertisers
Develop and implement sales strategies and initiatives to drive new business and expand existing accounts
Join sales reps on client meetings and calls to coach, support, and help close deals
Establish, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure team success and identify areas for improvement
Provide regular training, performance feedback, and professional development for team members
Collaborate with the marketing, editorial, and digital teams to create cross-platform advertising solutions
Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and insights to leadership
Stay current with industry trends and competitor activity to ensure the company remains a leader in local advertising.
Requirements
3–5+ years of experience in advertising or media sales
At least 1–2 years in a leadership or management role preferred
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, inspire, and hold a team accountable
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to analyze data and KPIs to drive informed decision-making
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Knowledge of digital advertising, print media, and integrated marketing campaigns preferred
Experience with CRM platforms and sales tracking tools
Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.
