About the role

  • Senior Manager of Business Development at Leonardo DRS managing initiatives and customer relationships. Leading strategic direction and market analysis for business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and conduct the evaluation and implementation of new initiatives and business opportunities for the Company under the direction of senior business development leader
  • Provide strategic and tactical direction to the business development function by evaluating new initiatives and business opportunities and establishing and maintaining customer relationships
  • Conduct and may oversee market analysis and competitive activity
  • Identify and explore customer needs
  • Provide assistance in the planning, designing, and implementing of business plans
  • Assist with the follow through and deployment of the Company's vision, strategies, and tactics
  • Coordinate and facilitate activities and commitments with other departments and/or functions
  • Participate/coordinate in strategic alliances and other external business relationships
  • May manage Business Development staff
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Make presentations on Company portfolio of products and services
  • Attend business meetings as requested
  • Attend trade shows
  • Analyze and have general understanding of the Government budgeting process

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Engineering or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation communication skills
  • Planning and organization, project management, and time management skills
  • Ability to work on complex problems
  • Knowledge of Company products, markets and technology
  • Strong analytical and financial skills
  • Willing and able to travel 10-25% of the time
  • DoD experience preferred
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
