About the role

  • Act as first-line Supervisor to Financial Planners of varying experience and locations
  • Ensure Financial Planners within your span of control are supervised in accordance with the Group Training & Competence Scheme
  • Deliver new entrant training and other training interventions as required
  • Work closely with the Training & Development Team to fulfil each Trainee's objectives through to Competent Adviser Status (CAS) and beyond
  • Undertake Role Plays, Live Observations, and Competency Assessments and provide feedback to Planners
  • Assess KPIs to identify development areas, agree CPD and deliver appropriate coaching and training
  • Assist Group Compliance with ensuring training material is kept up to date and develop new material as required
  • Ensure own ongoing competency and promote client-centric culture
  • Proactively share best practice across advisers and support staff
  • Develop Trainee Financial Planners to reach CAS and conduct competency assessment of Financial Planners joining via acquisitions
  • Monitor ongoing competency of CAS Planners and assist operation of systems and controls to mitigate business risks and ensure regulatory compliance

Requirements

  • Experienced working in a Training & Competence role within the Financial Services sector, supervising Financial Planners in all areas (Pensions, Investments, and Protection)
  • Experience in providing effective Coaching
  • A good understanding and knowledge of relevant FCA rules
  • A good understanding of complaints procedures
  • A good understanding of other relevant legislation, including financial crime and GDPR
  • A good understanding of updating policies and procedures
  • A good understanding of Training & Competency
  • Working knowledge of and be competent with Microsoft Applications
  • Qualified to at least QCF Level 4 or equivalent qualification (H15, JO7 or AF6 are desirable)
  • Regular travel to offices to meet face to face with advisors as required
  • Full-Time – 9am to 5pm with 1-hour lunch (35 hours)
