About the role

  • Managing projects with existing and future clients in Indonesia
  • Conceptualizing, co-creating and proposing solutions and strategies for client challenges and issues, and successfully implementing these strategies in pursuit of our clients’ interests
  • Maintaining and managing client relationships as a trusted advisor to provide strategic advice and ensure client satisfaction
  • Ensuring delivery of high-quality services and products to clients
  • Pro-actively maintaining and building AGA’s partnerships with government, associations, business and third parties
  • Representing the firm in stakeholder meetings, public forums, or industry events
  • Leading business development and outreach activities in Indonesia, including identification of potential clients, kick-starting and maintaining conversations with potential clients, and development of proposals, partnering with AGA’s regional team
  • Leading in team and people management, including recruitment, training, knowledge-sharing and mentoring, and developing junior consultants
  • Working on special projects as needed and assigned

Requirements

  • Ten or more years of progressive experience in government relations, strategic communications, corporate affairs and/or government in Indonesia; consulting experience is preferred
  • Deep networks with government and business stakeholders, coupled with an in-depth understanding of the investment and policy climate in Indonesia
  • Excellent interpersonal negotiation and communication skills
  • Experience or aptitude in dealing with senior international business executives and government decision-makers
  • Experience in writing about investment-oriented policies, regulatory issues and political-economy topics targeted to a business audience
  • Intellectually curious with strong strategic-thinking abilities and good commercial acumen; energized by finding solutions to complex issues and joining the dots to contextualize developments for our clients
  • Distinctive English skills, both written and oral
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and mentoring a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability to constantly changing priorities; capable of managing and making informed decisions in often ambiguous circumstances and a solution-oriented, can-do approach.
  • A dynamic, self-starter personality capable of operating both independently and in a team setting.
