Technical Writing Intern assisting users of online Seminary and Institute religion courses. Involves writing, proofreading, and providing technical support.
Responsibilities
Assist users of online Seminary, Institute, and BYU Pathway religion courses through email, support tickets, and occasional virtual conference calls
Contribute to writing, revising, and proofreading communications sent to Seminary and Institute employees worldwide
Help develop and proofread technical resources for both internal and external audiences
Support various projects assigned by the Course Support Coordinator
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for users related to online course content and usage in Online Seminary, Institute, and BYU Pathway Religion courses
Support the resolution of course-related escalation issues, including instructor inactivity and student concerns
Requirements
Must be enrolled in or recently graduated (within the last 12 months) from an undergraduate or graduate degree program—preferably in English, technical writing, communication, instructional design, or another related field
Must live in Utah and be authorized to work in the U.S.A.
Strong writing, revising, copyediting, and proofreading skills
Attention to detail, ability to sustain concentration for long periods of time, and maintain the highest level of accuracy
Proficiency in another language (Spanish preferred) is a plus, but not necessary
Able to work independently and be self-motivated
Dependable, hardworking, and trustworthy
Open to feedback with a willingness to learn and improve
A team player with strong interpersonal skills
