About the role
- Own, design, and execute technical SEO and AEO strategy across Checkr’s products and brands, reporting to the Website & SEO Manager
- Architect and scale organic growth across new and legacy search environments with an emphasis on AI-driven discovery
- Analyze server logs to track bot behavior, surface crawl inefficiencies, and prioritize remediation to drive business impact
- Engineer site architecture, canonicalization, XML sitemaps, and robots directives to maximize crawlability and indexing
- Design, deploy, and validate schema and structured data to increase rich result and AEO discoverability
- Partner with development to improve page speed, Core Web Vitals, mobile usability, and domain-level technical settings
- Develop automated workflows and technical tools (AirOps, custom GPTs/agents) to scale audits, QA, topic monitoring, and insights
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, content, and product to embed SEO/AEO standards into roadmaps and releases
- Advise on off-site community and platform optimization (e.g., Reddit) for content structure, metadata, and link strategy
Requirements
- Technical SEO depth: experience moving from log insights to migration and architecture improvements
- B2B growth focus: prioritize SEO/AEO projects by revenue impact and build journeys that convert B2B buyers
- AI fluency: strong prompting/LLM understanding and ability to influence answer engine results
- Data-driven: proficient with GA4 & Search Console; working understanding of BI tools (e.g., Looker); SQL/Python is a plus
- Performance instincts: understanding of website speed, Core Web Vitals, and mobile usability
- Operator mindset: experience building systems (dashboards, alerts, QA tools) and automation
- Trusted collaborator: effective communicator with experience partnering with marketing, product, and engineering
- Experience with crawl & log file analysis and interpreting bot behavior (Google, ChatGPT, etc.)
- Experience with indexation, canonicalization, XML sitemaps, and robots directives
- Experience designing, deploying, and validating schema markup (FAQ, Product, Article, etc.)
- Experience developing automated workflows and tools (e.g., custom GPTs/agents) to scale audits and QA
