About the role

  • Underwrite and manage an assigned region within the Continental U.S.
  • Approve all commercial and commercial contract surety bonds within your authority
  • Lead a team of underwriters and manage agency relationships
  • Marketing for new business and budgeting for the region
  • Achieve minimum loss ratio and maximum profitability for the Division
  • Analyze new account submissions and maintain underwriting files
  • Enhance and secure agency relationships to meet revenue and profit objectives
  • Develop a one to three year territory strategic plan

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in business, preferably finance or accounting
  • 10+ years experience for Branch / Regional Manager level
  • 7-10 years experience for Senior Underwriter level
  • Strong marketing skills to obtain new business
  • Competency in quantitative and financial analysis
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Competent computer skills including knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Ability to travel up to 35%
