About the role
- Regional Manager for Credit and Surety managing underwriting decisions and agency relationships in the U.S. Ensuring profitability and leading a team in the assigned region.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite and manage an assigned region within the Continental U.S.
- Approve all commercial and commercial contract surety bonds within your authority
- Lead a team of underwriters and manage agency relationships
- Marketing for new business and budgeting for the region
- Achieve minimum loss ratio and maximum profitability for the Division
- Analyze new account submissions and maintain underwriting files
- Enhance and secure agency relationships to meet revenue and profit objectives
- Develop a one to three year territory strategic plan
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in business, preferably finance or accounting
- 10+ years experience for Branch / Regional Manager level
- 7-10 years experience for Senior Underwriter level
- Strong marketing skills to obtain new business
- Competency in quantitative and financial analysis
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Competent computer skills including knowledge of Excel and Word
- Ability to travel up to 35%
