About the role

  • Product Marketing Manager defining product positioning and storytelling for critical technologies in defense. Collaborating with engineering and marketing teams to articulate value in complex environments.

Responsibilities

  • You’ll be the link between engineering excellence and market impact, ensuring Rowden’s products are communicated with clarity, technical depth, and purpose.
  • You’ll own how our products are represented in the market: developing positioning frameworks, messaging, and go-to-market material that sharpen how we compete and win.
  • Working across Product, Sales, and Engineering, you’ll bring coherence, insight, and creativity to how Rowden tells its story and delivers customer value.
  • Understand and communicate how Rowden’s sensing, networking, and device management technologies work together to deliver operational resilience, turning deep technical capability into stories that resonate with engineers, operators, and decision-makers.
  • Create scalable, technically rich content for our sales and government affairs teams that helps customers, partners, and governments engage with our product families and reflects the real substance of our business.
  • Build a deep understanding of markets, users, and competitors across defence, national security, and other dual-use industries, crafting product narratives that make Rowden’s capabilities stand apart and drive relevance across new verticals.
  • Partner with designers and engineers to represent our systems clearly - deployments, user workflows, integration points - through diagrams, animations, and visual assets that make complex ideas tangible.
  • Support how Rowden shows up at events, in digital campaigns, through print materials, and across our owned media platforms. Ensure every channel tells the same credible, technically grounded story of what we build and why it matters.

Requirements

  • 4+ years in product or solution marketing within technology, engineering, or defence/security sectors.
  • Proven ability to craft and articulate value propositions for complex technical products.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience conducting market and competitor analysis.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills - comfortable communicating to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Experience working with creative and design functions to translate concepts into compelling visuals, campaigns, and assets that bring ideas to life.
  • Familiarity with government or B2G procurement environments advantageous.
  • Pragmatic, organised, and confident working in a fast-growing company where systems and playbooks are still being built.
  • **Mindset & Behaviours**
  • Mission-focused: You care about the end user and the impact of technology in real operational settings.
  • Technical fluency: You understand complex systems and can communicate them simply.
  • Curious and analytical: You thrive on understanding markets, customers, and competition.
  • Creative and hands-on: You combine strategic thinking with the ability to execute quickly.
  • Collaborative: You work across teams and disciplines to build shared understanding and momentum.

Benefits

  • We are committed to building a flexible, inclusive, and enabling company. Our aim is to create a diverse team of talented people with unique skills, experience, and backgrounds, so please apply and come as you are!
  • We also recognise the importance of flexible working and support this wherever we can. We typically operate a flexible, hybrid-working model, with an average 3 days in the office each week (dependent on the role).
  • Rowden is a Disability Confident Committed company, and we actively encourage people with disabilities and health conditions to apply for our roles. Please let us know your requirements early on so that we can make sure you have everything you need up front to help make the recruitment process and experience as easy as possible.
  • Finally, if you feel that you don’t meet all the criteria included above but have transferable skills and relevant experience, we’d still love to hear from you!
