About the role

  • Bilingual Prevention Initiative Assessor evaluating compliance in early childhood programs. Conducting assessments, collecting data, and ensuring compliance with ISBE policies and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct virtual preparation meetings with grantees, describing the monitoring process, documentation requirements, instructions, and answering questions.
  • Collect program data and evaluate grantee compliance with state-specific requirements.
  • Evaluate data, documents, and program information to assess grantees' compliance with ISBE policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Interpret the administrative code and apply it to multiple document reviews.
  • Conduct observational assessments using the ITERS, FCCERS, and HOVERS tools to measure program quality.
  • Prepare reports from completed compliance and quality reviews, maintaining accuracy and adhering to high-quality writing standards.
  • Respond to Grantee inquiries regarding the monitoring process.
  • Assist and/or participate in training, meetings, and professional development seminars.
  • Engage in process development, improvement, and innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood development or early childhood education.
  • Must live in Illinois.
  • At least two years of Supervisory experience in Early Childhood education, programs, or initiatives.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required.
  • At least two years of Certification or experience with HOVRS, ITERS, and PICC (certification highly preferred).
  • Solid understanding of Early Childhood program rules, prevention initiative program assessment tools, and compliance.
  • Experience with web-based compliance software.
  • Experience matching field conditions with relevant laws, policies, and best practices.
  • Ability to analyze and organize information following multi-step instructions.
  • Extreme sensitivity to appropriate recording and transmitting confidential or Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
