As a People & Culture Advisor at Medisca, you will play a key role in aligning people strategies with business objectives. As the primary P&C contact for your assigned business units, you will work closely with leaders and employees to provide effective HR support in employee relations, performance management, onboarding, learning and development. You will focus on creating a positive employee experience while driving initiatives that support organizational growth and success.
The opportunity:
Build and nurture relationships with managers to ensure employee relations, employee engagement, programs and learning & development initiatives support business objectives.
Act as a trusted advisor to employees on personal and professional matters.
Work closely with management and employees to design and implement programs that cultivate a positive culture, improve workplace relations, boost morale and increase productivity and retention.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day employee management to reduce legal risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
Provide managers with daily guidance on performance management (e.g., coaching, career development, disciplinary measures).
Serve as a witness at disciplinary and termination meetings.
Communicate policy or procedure changes, update employee handbooks and create forms as required.
Identify and coordinate training needs for new hires and current employees.
Participate in the evaluation and tracking of training programs to ensure their success.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Industrial Relations required
Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in Human Resources
Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. employment/labour law
Ability to manage sensitive information and situations with ease
Advanced interpersonal and mediation skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to flag discrepancies while exercising sound ethical judgment
Strong work ethic and discretion
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) required
Experience with an HRIS or UKG is an asset
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English and French (spoken and written)
