Responsibilities
Overseeing the franchise audit function to ensure adherence to franchise agreements and financial reporting accuracy
Supervising and supporting the Audit Coordinator and Franchise Audit Specialists
Leading the franchise audit program, from strategy and planning through execution and resolution
Providing coaching and performance feedback to direct reports and conducting performance reviews
Overseeing the audit process, including scheduling, execution, data analysis, and reporting
Managing the relationship with external auditors and serving as the escalation point for franchisee disputes
Collaborating with Legal, Accounting, Development, and Brand Leadership to ensure consistent interpretation and enforcement of franchise agreements
Developing and maintaining a robust reporting system to track audit outcomes and compliance trends
Identifying opportunities for process improvement and risk mitigation
Establishing and refining audit and compliance procedures and controls
Requirements
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting or auditing
At least 5 years' experience in a leadership role
Experience with franchise organizations is preferred
Proven leadership experience in auditing
Exceptional project management and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills, with the ability to coach and mentor others
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and trends
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
Strong understanding of GAAP
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and proven ability to learn new software
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
