About the role
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee construction and renovation projects for the company’s retail stores.
- Manage end-to-end construction projects, including remodels, lab facilities, and office expansions.
- Develop project timelines, budgets, and scopes of work.
- Oversee bidding, selection, and management of contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Review architectural drawings, engineering reports, and specifications for accuracy and feasibility.
- Coordinate permitting, inspections, and compliance with local, state, and federal building codes.
- Monitor construction progress, conduct site visits, and resolve issues to keep projects on track.
- Collaborate with internal departments (operations, IT, facilities, and marketing) to align construction with business needs.
- Manage project reporting, documentation, and communication with leadership.
- Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulations.
- Develop network of contractors and builders and create database of services and specialties, including licensing by state.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience managing construction projects of various types from simple renovations to full scope permitted renovations.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, codes, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with project management and construction software; AutoCAD experience helpful.
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
- Understanding of merchandising and set up of retail spaces.
