About the role

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee construction and renovation projects for the company’s retail stores.
  • Manage end-to-end construction projects, including remodels, lab facilities, and office expansions.
  • Develop project timelines, budgets, and scopes of work.
  • Oversee bidding, selection, and management of contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Review architectural drawings, engineering reports, and specifications for accuracy and feasibility.
  • Coordinate permitting, inspections, and compliance with local, state, and federal building codes.
  • Monitor construction progress, conduct site visits, and resolve issues to keep projects on track.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (operations, IT, facilities, and marketing) to align construction with business needs.
  • Manage project reporting, documentation, and communication with leadership.
  • Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulations.
  • Develop network of contractors and builders and create database of services and specialties, including licensing by state.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience managing construction projects of various types from simple renovations to full scope permitted renovations.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, codes, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with project management and construction software; AutoCAD experience helpful.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
  • Understanding of merchandising and set up of retail spaces.
