Provide strategic leadership to drive revenue growth across the Austin and San Antonio markets
Oversee and lead a 5–7 person sales team while managing your own book of business
Coach, mentor, and inspire a high-performing sales team; lead hiring, training, and development
Drive sales metrics through thoughtful and strategic leadership and develop, train, and reinforce effective sales strategies
Maintain and expand partnerships with key customers, especially hotel partners
Conduct annual and mid-year performance reviews with recommendations for promotions and development
Motivate team members to achieve company and individual sales performance goals
Provide accurate and timely quarterly/annual sales forecasts
Shape and deliver ongoing sales training for new and tenured team members
Engage with clients during pre-sale, development, and execution to increase win rates and repeat business
Partner closely with department leaders and the Managing Director to ensure collaboration and create synergy across all departments
Report to the Austin office three days a week (if not out meeting hotel partners and clients)
Requirements
6+ years of proven sales success in a DMC or a related industry such as hospitality or events
Salesforce power-user with a deep understanding of the platform’s features, can effectively manage sales pipelines within Salesforce, and can create custom reports to analyze data, share insights and identify trends
Verifiable knowledge and relationships in the specific, local destination
Successful negotiation and relationship-building skills
At least 2 years experience leading high-performing sales teams and achieving revenue targets
Solution-Oriented Mindset: Proactive and the tendency to take initiative to contribute to the success of self and team
Customer Service: Obsession with providing excellent customer service and a passion for the hospitality and special events industry
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships, both internally and externally
Flexibility: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment while meeting deadlines and exceeding expectations
Must be currently based in the Austin or San Antonio area, and able to report to the Austin office three days a week
