About the role

  • Manage a book of commercial insurance business and provide professional, courteous service to clients, carriers, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues
  • Work closely with Producers and HUB personnel on client service, marketing, and renewals following HUB best practices
  • Prepare and implement transactions, paperwork, and internal processing for assigned accounts; act as backup for other support staff
  • Acquire understanding of clients’ insurance objectives and analyze/compare insurance plans for suitability; coordinate implementation of client strategic plans
  • Perform value-added services including Pre-Renewal Strategic Planning, Risk ID Assessments, Contract Reviews, Claims Reviews, Market Analysis, Stewardship Reports, Deductible Analysis
  • Act as liaison to resolve escalated complex service issues and negotiate with underwriters/carriers when needed
  • Troubleshoot claims and billing issues and document client account activities in HUB systems
  • Identify opportunities for cross-sell and up-sell, support account rounding and new business development as appropriate
  • Support, mentor, and train less experienced Account Managers and Assistant Account Managers
  • Prepare reports, proposals and comparisons; seek continued industry knowledge and attend continuing education

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 5+ years account management experience (brokerage preferred) or equivalent combination of education & experience
  • Property & Causality License
  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate orally and in writing with internal and external customers
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and agency management systems
  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving abilities
  • Desire to learn and grow within the insurance industry
  • Confidence and demeanor to effectively interact with all levels within the organization
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships and work with insurance and service vendors
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks and responsibilities
  • Ability to effectively work with a team and coach others in developing their skills
