About the role

  • Execute a go-to-market strategy and meet annual sales objectives in an assigned territory
  • Develop and execute local market sales plans and manage trade spend
  • Negotiate pricing, deliver against marketing initiatives, and ensure compliance with programs
  • Focus primarily on distributors and drive business profitability through selling the Simplot product portfolio
  • Manage product portfolio and represent the full Simplot product line in all sales capacities
  • Conduct sales calls to key operator accounts and recruit/establish new partnerships
  • Build relationships with key management and sales personnel at assigned distributors and other market channels
  • Lift and carry 30 pounds, utilize culinary influence, conduct product demos, work in a commercial kitchen
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Finance, Customer Service, Quality Assurance, Culinary, Demand Planning, Production, and Logistics
  • Research industry and marketing trends and develop product suggestions
  • Supply programs, information, and tools that aid selling efforts and drive customer acceptance of new product introductions
  • Use and leverage Simplot CRM (salesforce.com) to drive efficiency and results
  • Manage and utilize budgeted trade dollars and ensure sales forecast and profit targets are met
  • Execute promotional and scheduled activities consistent with the division marketing calendar
  • Identify and follow-up on new operator sales opportunities and match solutions (merchandising, recipe, culinary, etc.)

Requirements

  • Must reside or be willing to relocate to the Tallahassee area.
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university (required)
  • 5+ years of foodservice sales experience
  • Foodservice industry strongly preferred
  • Ability to lift and carry 30 pounds
  • Ability to travel/drive up to 50% required
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and proven ability to successfully multi-task and manage unexpected demands
  • Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs and Sales Reporting Systems
  • Mobility is strongly preferred
  • Ability to utilize culinary influence, conduct product demos, and work in a commercial kitchen
  • Demonstrated ability to persuade and influence operators, distributors, and internal teams without authority
