About the role
- Head of Accounting managing financial operations including compliance and audits at ZigZag. Leading the accounting team in Ortigas for accurate financial reporting and controls.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting functions, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Fixed Assets
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing
- Review and approve journal entries, schedules, and account reconciliations
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure accuracy of Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
- Ensure full compliance with BIR requirements (VAT, Withholding Taxes, Income Tax, Alphalist, etc.)
- Prepare and review tax filings and statutory reports
- Handle coordination with external auditors, tax consultants, and government agencies
- Manage audits and address audit findings
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure proper documentation
- Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Supervise, train, and evaluate accounting staff
- Review team output and ensure deadlines are met
- Provide guidance and technical support to the team
- Provide accounting and financial insights to management
- Coordinate with other departments for financial matters
- Support special projects and management requests
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy
- Minimum 5–7 years of accounting experience
- At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, and compliance
- Experience handling audits and BIR transactions
- Preferred CPA license (strong advantage)
- Experience in project-based, construction, energy, or similar industries
- Experience using accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks)
- Advanced Excel skills
