About the role

  • Manage research administration oversight in Pediatrics, including payroll, budgeting and personnel management. Oversee grant submissions and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Manage pre-award activities and perform post-award activities
  • Provide research administration oversight including personnel, payroll, budgeting, and operations management
  • Oversee research administration for assigned divisions in the Department of Pediatrics
  • Monitor, analyze, and prepare financial reports for faculty research portfolios
  • Monitor grant and department research accounts in Workday
  • Supervise and train others in the submission of grant and contract proposals
  • Oversee the submission and post-award activities of research or clinical trial studies
  • Responsible for research faculty and staff sourcing/payroll costing allocation
  • Manage annual salary planning process for research staff
  • Communicate and administer all policies and procedures to faculty and staff
  • Monitor compliance of faculty and staff with internal and external policies and procedures
  • Maintain personnel records and oversee scheduling of employees, evaluating process, and resolving personnel problems
  • Review and screen job applications and conduct interviews
  • Recommend and participate in the development of policies & procedures
  • Organize and attend meetings and conferences and participate in various Departmental and University committees

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education
  • 7+ years of accounting experience
  • 3+ years of grants administration experience
