About the role

  • Senior People & Capability Partner at VMIA delivering People & Culture strategy by enhancing workforce capability. Providing trusted advice to senior leaders across the employee lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leaders as a trusted People & Capability advisor, providing strategic and practical advice across the employee lifecycle
  • Coach and support leaders to build people leadership capability, manage performance and lead change effectively
  • Provide guidance on complex employee relations matters, including performance, conduct, grievances, investigations and organisational change
  • Ensure people practices are fair, compliant, risk-aware and aligned with VMIA policies, values and legislative obligations
  • Partner with leaders on workforce planning, organisational design, restructures and evolving ways of working
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of workforce, talent, succession and leadership development initiatives
  • Support initiatives that strengthen culture, wellbeing, safe work practices and psychosocial risk management
  • Provide workforce insights and advice to support sound decision-making and governance
  • Contribute to the uplift of capability across the People & Culture function through collaboration, coaching and continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in HR / People & Culture, with strong capability in business partnering, workforce planning, talent management, and employee relations
  • Solid experience managing complex employee relations matters with sound judgement and a practical, balanced approach
  • Confidence advising senior leaders on sensitive and high-impact people matters
  • Strong knowledge of workplace health & safety, including psychosocial risk management
  • Demonstrated ability to provide independent, defensible advice to senior leaders and engage external legal advisers where required
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust across diverse stakeholders
  • Proven ability to coach and influence leaders on complex people matters and change management
  • Experience delivering people initiatives or projects that improve capability, leadership or employee experience
  • Ability to use workforce data and insights to inform decisions
