About the role

  • Strategic Growth Initiatives Officer focusing on revenue-generating initiatives and partnerships at the University of Alberta. Collaborating with leaders to expand educational impact and ensure financial sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, assess, and move forward revenue-generating initiatives prior to program delivery.
  • Explore new continuing education offerings, micro-credentials and certificate programs, international partnerships, and other opportunities that expand the Faculty’s educational impact and reach.
  • Conduct market and financial analysis, develop business cases, and bring forward viable proposals that respond to evolving healthcare and professional education needs.
  • Build collaborative relationships with internal and external partners, including academic leaders, industry organizations, and international institutions.
  • Represent the Faculty in partnership discussions and networking forums.
  • Monitor developments in healthcare workforce training, continuing education, and international education.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to Faculty leadership on emerging opportunities and risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Education, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • A graduate degree in a relevant discipline is considered an asset.
  • Business development, strategic growth initiatives, or partnership development
  • Program development within postsecondary or professional education environments
  • Market research, business analysis, or feasibility assessments
  • Advancing revenue-generating initiatives or new service/program development
  • Experience working within a postsecondary, healthcare, or professional education environment is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, including market research and financial or business analysis.
  • Ability to translate ideas into clear business cases and strategic recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective partnerships.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a complex, collaborative environment.
  • Proactive, curious, and motivated to identify new opportunities.
  • Comfortable working in evolving and ambiguous environments.
  • Collaborative and relationship-focused.
  • Demonstrates sound professional judgement and diplomacy.
