About the role

  • Marketing & Business Development Executive in a law firm enhancing initiatives and collaborating with stakeholders across sectors. Focus on execution, cross-selling, and strategic development within the legal framework.

Responsibilities

  • Support in executing and implementing MBD (Marketing & Business Development) plans.
  • Support enabling cross-selling opportunities with other relevant sector/practice/country teams, including client/industry research, reporting and advising on key insights.
  • Assist in creating high-quality, up-to-date marketing materials (e.g., brochures, flyers, social media posts, etc.).
  • Update content and promote the group's market-leading reports and guides, and assist in producing new reports as required.
  • Support event preparation (including Bird & Bird-led seminars/webinars and industry events) to ensure value is captured and documented (e.g., creating targeted lists and assisting with follow-up actions).
  • Collaborate with the BD Manager to identify key topics and trends that support the business development strategy.
  • Assist in tracking and reporting new business opportunities generated through marketing and business development activities.
  • Track experience across all groups — regularly request information from fee-earners and report into Loopio (our RFP/response database).

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a professional services environment and working with partners and key stakeholders would be beneficial.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including experience and/or interest in the principal legal and commercial issues affecting the energy, aerospace and defence sectors, and in the impact of ESG across businesses.
  • Experience across the full range of MBD activities, particularly marketing campaigns, proposals/tenders and events.
  • Strong writing and editing skills and proficiency in MS applications, including Teams, Word, PowerPoint and Excel; experience with platforms such as OnePlace/Salesforce is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness and curiosity to experiment with AI tools to improve efficiency and workflows.
  • Understanding of the benefits and use of social media.
