About the role

  • System Director overseeing benefits strategy, design, and compliance for Tufts Medicine. Leading a team to optimize health, welfare, and retirement benefits while ensuring regulatory adherence.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the strategy, design, and compliance of benefit programs
  • Accountable for the operational integrity of day-to-day administration and team performance
  • Acts as a proactive change agent to navigate organizational shifts and transformations
  • Serve as a strategic consultant to the VP, proactively identifying opportunities for plan optimization
  • Plan and direct the implementation and administration of benefits programs
  • Champions Health Equity and Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) as foundational elements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or a related field
  • Seven (7) years of progressive benefits leadership experience
  • Workday experience required, preferable strong experience with Workday Benefits and Absence
  • Proven ability to manage complex benefits systems, integrations, and vendors
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting and cost management
  • Executive presence with the ability to influence senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Deep knowledge of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, PFML, and multi-state compliance requirements
