About the role

  • Payroll Accountant managing payroll for over 300 international employees in APAC region. Ensuring accurate processing and compliance with local payroll regulations and auditing standards.

Responsibilities

  • Processing of monthly payroll(s) for international employees to ensure payroll is processed accurately and on-time.
  • Ensure accurate data entry of employee changes including but not limited to new starters, leavers, tax forms and direct deposit authorizations forms.
  • Responsible for the extract of data from the time and attendance system, validating and processing the data in the appropriate payroll system.
  • Assist with the auditing of payroll to ensure proper transmission.
  • Facilitate consistent and timely resolution of employee issues, concerns, and questions by responding to internal customers.
  • Solve complex payroll issues relating to employee pay and associated taxes.
  • Work closely with Corporate Accounting to ensure an accurate payroll interface to the general ledger system and other payroll related entries for month end close.
  • Assist with generating reports on a regular or on demand basis to support payroll processing and other requirements associated with year-end.
  • Participate in audits of payroll-related activity to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare data files as required for year-end reporting for employees and the associated government filings.
  • Partner with HR & Finance teams where required to ensure coordination and information sharing between the teams for seamless delivery.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintains payroll-specific records, including changes in wage/salary rates; pension, insurance, mandatory deductions; new hires, terminations, leave of absence, etc.
  • Assist with process mapping and documentation is developed, updated, and maintained.
  • Ability to manage multiple project assignments in a deadline-driven environment.

  • Comply with all company policies and legal requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' multi country payroll experience
  • Strong expertise in APAC Payroll, including statutory deductions, taxation, and compliance with local law
  • Ability to independently handle end-to-end payroll processes and issues.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and meeting deadlines
  • Working knowledge of auditing concepts and controls, pay calculations regarding overtime, pre-tax deductions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • ADP Streamline and ADP Payline (AUS) experience for international payroll processing preferred.
  • Workday experience a plus.
  • Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office products (Excel, Access, Word).
