About the role

  • Group Leader managing remote laboratory staff for Thermo Fisher Scientific. Overseeing recruitment, client satisfaction, and operational metrics while ensuring pharmaceutical standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Provide management and direction to remote laboratory staff at client sites
  • Provide administrative resources for employee activities and needs
  • Assist in the recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of new staff
  • Ensure staff responsiveness and overall client satisfaction
  • Meet regularly with client contacts to monitor the technical performance of staff and their project timeliness
  • Track Key Performance Indicators and metrics

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in lab sciences such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Material Science, Immunology, Biology, Molecular Biology or similar
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable 8+ years’) OR Masters degree and previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable 6+ years’)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Proven leadership skills with an ability to train and mentor junior staff
  • Pharmaceutical experience required
  • Ability to independently develop project proposals and plans
  • Demonstrated understanding of the bid process and can apply expertise of others to develop programs to meet unique client needs
  • Understanding of basic financial terms and definitions as it applies to the business
  • Ability to cultivate a collaborative work environment with a team
  • Effective written and oral communication skills as well as presentation skills
