About the role

  • Junior HR Generalist supporting the entire Employee Lifecycle at an EdTech startup in Berlin. Involved in recruiting, onboarding, and HR operations while ensuring a positive candidate experience.

Responsibilities

  • You support our HR team across the entire employee lifecycle — from recruiting and onboarding to administrative processes and organizing team events.
  • You coordinate applications, conduct initial conversations with candidates and assist our employees with organizational HR matters.
  • You create and post job advertisements, review and evaluate incoming applications, and organize and conduct first interviews.
  • You support administrative tasks in the daily HR operations.
  • These tasks include drafting employment contracts and contract amendments, preparing employment references, and maintaining and updating personnel data in Personio.
  • You plan and coordinate our team events and ensure shared experiences for the team.
  • For administrative and organizational inquiries throughout the employee lifecycle, you will develop into a trusted, solution-oriented point of contact for our employees.
  • You assist our Head of HR in preparing and maintaining central HR metrics.

Requirements

  • Ideally you have at least one year of operational experience in HR or a comparable role (e.g., internship, working student position, or entry-level role).
  • Initial experience in a startup or a dynamic environment is a plus.
  • You take ownership of your tasks and drive them forward independently.
  • You value goal-oriented and structured work.
  • You work carefully and with attention to detail and can organize yourself well.
  • You are eager to develop, reflect on your own actions and actively draw learnings from your experiences.
  • Confident use of Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar).
  • Experience with Personio, DATEV, Trello and Notion is advantageous.
  • You speak and write excellent German and ideally also have very good English skills (C1+).
