About the role

  • Performing advanced technical and analytical work to inform decision-making in the Vermont Mental Health department. Conducting research, data analysis, and system evaluations for various mental health programs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced technical and analytical work to support the department through research, statistical analysis, and data processing.
  • Design and conduct studies, select appropriate research methodologies, collect, clean, and analyze data, and interpret results to inform decision-making and program development.
  • Develop data collection systems, ensure data quality, adapt statistical models.
  • Monitor or enhance data systems, conduct evaluations of data needs.
  • Prepare detailed administrative reports, create dashboards using PowerBI, and present results to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide technical assistance, collaborate with data processing staff on system and format design, and support program evaluation and implementation activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, computer science, mathematics, information technology, or other analytics discipline.
  • One (1) year or more of years of experience in research, statistics, or program evaluation where the activities include gathering, analyzing, and interpreting statistical data.
  • Fluency in Microsoft products (Excel, PowerBI, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Statistical software (SPSS, Python)
  • Database design
  • Understanding of IT environments (SAP Business Objects, Access)
  • Additional understanding of AI tools preferred.
  • Expected to work professionally and cooperatively with a wide range of stakeholders.
