About the role

  • FIFO HR Advisor supporting Port Hedland operations for Hancock Iron Ore. Involved in HR processes, compliance, and employee management in a mining environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support Port and Rail Operations in Port Hedland
  • Provide practical advice, ensure compliance with legislation, and help leaders navigate challenges
  • Deliver HR processes, manage employee movements, and resolve issues quickly and effectively
  • Work closely with leaders and employees of all levels in a dynamic mining environment
  • Involved in everything from day-to-day transactional tasks to supporting more complex people matters

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in a Human Resources role, ideally in mining or resources
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills in performance management, employee relations, and HR processes
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with leaders and team members
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced site environment
  • An understanding of employment legislation, with a desire to grow knowledge in IR/ER matters
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, in particular Power BI and Excel and able to learn HR systems quickly
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Psychology, Commerce, or working towards completion will be beneficial
