About the role
- Cloud Solutions Architect overseeing Azure solutions and cloud migration initiatives. Collaborating across IT teams to design and govern effective architecture strategies.
Responsibilities
- Serve as visionary and strategist for solution product areas associated with Azure.
- Provides consultation to application owners, business partners and peer groups regarding long and short-range architecture solutions to meet business objectives.
- Recommends solutions and develops business case alternatives that anticipate the future direction of the business, business drivers and technology strategy in context of cloud solutions
- Aligns new solutions to the current architectural principles regarding standards and integration in the organization.
- Lead cloud modernization and migration initiatives (e.g., App Gateway V1→V2, Azure SQL, Fabric), ensuring scalable, cost‑effective, and reusable solution designs.
- Partnering with other IT teams to define and govern cloud networking strategy, including Private Endpoints, DNS patterns, and segmentation models.
- Drive architecture governance, roadmaps, platform standards, guardrails, and futurization workshops, incorporating Microsoft best practices and reference architectures.
- Produce high‑quality reference architectures and Lucid diagrams that translate requirements into clear, actionable designs.
- Balance the functional and nonfunctional requirements with necessary compromises while maintaining project scope.
- Mentor and guide less experienced associates, while owning and strengthening the technical relationship with Microsoft.
Requirements
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in computer science, information-technology, engineering, system analysis or a related study
- 5+ years of cloud infrastructure experience, Azure preferred
- Must have experience in at least two IT solution development disciplines, including technical or infrastructure architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management or cloud development
- Insurance knowledge a plus [OR] equivalent level of education and experience
- Experience with the entire Software Development Lifecycle from Analysis to Deployment of Software/Apps.
- Experience working with various technology stacks across frontend and backend including databases.
- Knowledge of various aspects of an enterprise technology architecture like business, information, data, network and security.
- Contributor towards information technology principles and processes definition and implementation.
- Knowledge of financial models and budgeting.
- Understanding and knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
- Knowledge and understanding of different scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, etc)
- Understanding and knowledge of IT standards and controls.
- Excellent understanding of application development methodologies and infrastructure and network architecture.
- Understanding and knowledge of Business domain.
- Experience analyzing and resolving moderately complex, cross-system issues.
- Excellent analytical, planning, organizational and technical and skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with developers in an in-and-out outsourced environment.
