About the role

  • Family Support Specialist providing parenting education services and coordinating resources for families in need. Collaborating with team members to enhance supportive services and maintain contract compliance.

Responsibilities

  • provide short term, time-limited coordination of services
  • parenting skills curriculum and resources to all assigned families
  • meet with families based on contract requirements and their needs
  • accept responsibility for cases assigned
  • works collaboratively with the team to support and assist the family
  • ensure contract timelines are met
  • be flexible to meet the needs of the families served
  • extensive travel around the assigned county or metro area is required

Requirements

  • a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree with related work experience
  • ability to relate to families of varied lifestyles, backgrounds, and ethnicities
  • knowledge of child abuse, domestic violence, neglect and child development
  • expectations of children
  • non-violent discipline
  • a working knowledge of the Department of Child Safety
  • verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to write and review assessments
  • knowledge of Microsoft Office software and Google Suite
  • must have reliable transportation that passes RISE random vehicle inspections
