Responsibilities
- Manages the writing, executing and distributing of regional APFS reinsurance transaction documents which embody client and RGA business objectives.
- Legal document drafting, ensuring that all documents are prepared in an accurate and professional manner and that APFS and RGA standards are being met
- Manage efficient version control during review and negotiation
- Partner with corporate partners and SME’s to draft language that addresses specific business or legal needs or for compliance with applicable insurance laws and regulations
- Ensure comments from internal RGA associates and clients are monitored and incorporated into the documents for further review
- Coordinates the review of draft legal documents to ensure the process stays organized and the appropriate draft versions are reviewed effectively (by the right people, with the right information, at the right time)
- Manage internal processes by ensuring documents have been correctly reviewed and approved the final execution versions of the document prior to execution
- Manage the document execution process by obtaining signatures on finalized legal documents on time and support any necessary requirements for execution
- Maintain appropriate archive of all APFS legal documents
- Implement continuous improvements to APFS processes and legal documents
- Assists in the preparation of post-execution matters as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Minimum 5+ years of contract, legal or treaty experience.
- Good English skills (including contract drafting) is required.
- For candidates based in Japan, Japanese language skills will be an advantage
- Understanding of reinsurance and insurance regulation
- Legal background; drive to deliver high-quality contract drafting and management.
