Senior Events Manager coordinating with Sales and hotel departments for seamless event delivery. Focused on enhancing revenue and client satisfaction in the event management process.
Responsibilities
Prepare all event documentation and coordinates closely with Sales, hotel departments, and clients
Ensure consistent, high-level service throughout all Pre-Event, Event, and Post-Event phases
Serve as the primary on-property contact for planners after turnover
Identify revenue-enhancement opportunities through strategic up-selling and event upgrades
Support and may represent the Director of Event Management or Director of Event Planning & Operations in their absence
Build brand loyalty by living the JW Marriott Core Values
Coordinates and communicates verbally and in writing with customers regarding event details
Follows up with customers post-event
Acts as liaison between field sales person and customers throughout the event process
Oversees customer experiences from file turnover through the post-event phase
Leads pre-event and post-event meetings for assigned groups
Greets customers during the event phase and hands-off to the Event Operations team for execution of details
Sets a positive example for guest relations
Reviews comment cards and guest satisfaction results with associates
Requirements
Minimum-High School Diploma or GED
5+ Years of Event Management Experience
Proven sales acumen with the ability to strategically up-sell products and services
Strong knowledge of menu planning, food presentation standards, and banquet/event service operations
Ability to effectively manage guest room blocks and meeting space inventories
Broad understanding of facility management, including sanitation, maintenance, and operational workflows
Exceptional customer relationship management and client development skills
Comprehensive understanding of hotel operations and their impact on event services
Familiarity with event technology products, services, and vendor coordination
Proficiency in contract management, including legal considerations and compliance
Strong financial management capabilities, including interpreting P&L statements, budgeting, forecasting, and labor scheduling
Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills
Advanced problem-solving abilities with a service-oriented mindset
Strong interpersonal skills for both customer and associate relations
Effective presentation and public-speaking skills
Highly organized with strong time-management and multi-tasking abilities
Proficient in standard office software and hotel operating systems
