About the role

  • Insurance Coordinator in Queensland Rail overseeing insurance management, claims processes, and administrative tasks. Proactive role requiring strong interpersonal skills and initiative in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the yearly insurance renewal and administration of the corporate insurance program
  • Assist in management of general insurance claims (including recoveries)
  • Be responsible for monthly general insurance reporting
  • Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders (including customers, ministerial departments, insurers, insurance brokers, external legal panel in relation to general insurance claims
  • Prepare and distribute insurance-related documentation, reports, and correspondence
  • Support risk assessment activities and maintain accurate records
  • Respond to the day-to-day needs of the business in relation to any general insurance queries
  • Provide administrative support including inputting accounts for payment and management of the General Insurance Claims Management System (GIMs)

Requirements

  • Initiative and problem-solving skills with the ability to think independently and work without detailed instructions
  • Resilience and adaptability to navigate complex internal processes and challenges
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills – comfortable engaging with diverse stakeholders
  • Background in claims management, insurance, legal support, or customer service
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of insurance principles and risk management practices.
